It seems as though Karl Lagerfeld has changed his opinion about plus sized women. Recently quoted to say, “no one wants to see round women,” he has photographed plus sized burlesque vixen Miss Dirty Martini for V Magazine’s size issue.
The images were actually shot at the Coco Chanel’s legendary atelier on Rue Cambon. If you check out the V Magazine preview, you’ll see that Martini is only wearing the Chanel accessories, so it still niggles me a little but the truth is that the Chanel label tends to favor thinner women, just as Coco Chanel intended. The famous (or infamous) Coco Chanel had difficulty finding clothes to fit her thin frame and designed her own clothes and I guess that the size aspect has reflected her own personal tastes.
